Infint has teamed up with Labrador Mountain, YNN, and Y94FM in support of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of Central New York, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. Over $1.5 million has been raised for research at Upstate Medical University and over $4.5 million for grants at Stony Brook University Medical Center. Go to the CMB web site.

Save the Peaks Celebrity Fun Race (NASTAR Format)

On February 18, 2012 Labrador Mountain will host a race in which media personalities, corporations, and local groups will compete. Teams will include breast cancer survivors, Labrador Mountain instructors & ski patrol members, and hometown celebrities. The event features head-to-head action on a giant slalom course for skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers. Last year's winners were the Red Apple Team with award-winning broadcaster, Doug Logan.

Here's a Story About Why We're Doing Save the Peaks

Think about this...at the age of 26, you've already been through round one of breast cancer. Fast-forward to a doctor’s office at the age of 33 with a husband and 3 kids, ages 4 months, 4 years and 7 years.

You're told it’s back again. This time it's spread to your bones, liver, lungs and is still in your breast. Close your eyes and think about what would be going through your mind.

The next words you hear are: "This is your second fight with breast cancer. We'll fight hard and manage it all the way, but there's no way to completely get rid of it."

You have to tell your family and face the reality of it all. Your emotions overwhelm you, take your breath away and make you fall to your knees. You see your life go by in a flash.

Your family and friends do everything they can, by holding your hand, making meals and being there when you just need to talk. You get a call from your brother in-law who wants to help. He creates an event in your honor and announces Save The Peaks, a cause where 100% of the money raised will go to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund to help fight breast cancer. The funds go right into your back yard to help you, your family and friends.

Take another step. Your doctors tell you they're administering a newly-tested drug. Many times you don’t know the source of new treatments, however this one was from the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.

What would you do or say to someone that developed something that allowed you to enjoy two more years of life? Gave you 24 more months with your daughters and son and the chance to see more dance recitals, baseball games and experience endless kisses good night?

Now it’s our turn to keep that fight going. Are you ready to help create memories? Another day of walking to the bus? What would you give for one more hug from your kids?
